ABOUT US
Cheryl Busby, PT, Cert DN
I grew up in Stoney Point near Franklinton, LA on a dairy farm where I learned the importance of integrity, hard work and helping others. I also learned at an early age to treat others with respect, kindness, empathy and be genuine in all things you say and do.
After high school I myself was involved in 2 major car accidents where I had to go through extensive Physical Therapy for multiple broken bones and surgeries. I was fortunate enough to have great Physical Therapists work with me to recover and I then worked as a PT tech after my recovery. After this I knew this was what I wanted to do--I wanted to help others the way I had been helped.
I then went on to graduate with my degree in Biology and minor in Chemistry from Texas Woman's University in 1995. Following this I went to school in the Netherlands where I earned my degree in Physical Therapy in 1997. Upon returning to the United States I began my career as a Physical Therapist working the last 26 years in outpatient physical therapy in Hammond, LA. I've worked with a variety of types of patients which include: pre and post op orthopedic care, vestibular disorders, dizziness/BPPV, balance problems, back/neck issues, all orthopedic issues, pediatric orthopedic problems, sports injuries, and a multitude of others.
I've also spent quite a bit of time over the years working in home health and nursing home settings where I've enjoyed being able to help those who weren't able to get in their car to come see me in the outpatient clinic.
I thoroughly enjoy helping others achieve their goals and improve their quality of life. It's so gratifying to have someone give me a high five that couldn't lift their arm, walk on a leg that they couldn't bare weight on or tell me they were able to play with their kids or grandkids without pain. This is what truly makes my heart smile.
